Empowering you through compassionate, customized training.
At ARF Limits Training, we specialize in personalized service dog task training to help individuals living with PTSD, anxiety, and other psychiatric or mobility-related disabilities. Grounded in the LIMA philosophy (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive), our approach is ethical, effective, and tailored to meet your unique needs.
We don’t just train dogs — we help build confident partnerships that create real, meaningful support in your daily life.
Getting started is simple:
We require a $25 non-refundable application fee to ensure our focus remains on serious, committed applicants. This helps us dedicate time and resources to building a training plan that’s truly designed for you.
Our application form is detailed — because your needs are unique. We ask about:
Daily challenges: How symptoms affect everyday tasks (waking up, shopping, routines)
Most limiting symptoms: What you experience most often and how frequently
Personal history: Anything that might affect your ability to bond with a dog
Training preferences: In-person or virtual sessions?
Requested tasks: Specific support you’d like your dog to provide
Lifestyle & routines: How your day-to-day environment impacts training
Triggers or challenges: Behaviors your service dog should be aware of
Support goals: How your dog can help at home, in public, or while traveling
Current coping strategies: What you’re using now — and how a dog could help
Bonding style: How you connect best with animals and what matters to you
After reviewing your application, we’ll create a customized training package that fits your lifestyle, limitations, and goals. Whether you’re starting with foundational obedience or ready to begin public access and task work, we’ll walk with you through every step of the journey.
Our training is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on preparing your service dog to be a consistent, confident helper in the moments that matter most.
